Who are Sandbag?
Sandbag was formed in March 2009, by two former British Army Officers, who had been assigned overseas by their employers. Both were lonely and reached out via an online military forum to look for other military veterans.
From there the membership expanded and in 2016 Sandbag became a fully registered society. Today Sandbag is the only registered society in Singapore that includes both local Singaporean and international military veterans.
We meet monthly to eat drink and chat, we hold regular fitness and wellbeing sessions, with a focus on veterans’ mental health. We look to promote veteran owned business that are based here in Singapore, and raise money for service-related charities that in the past have included:
- The Royal British Legion
- Legacy Australia
- Scotty’s Little Soldiers

Sandbag is inclusive, and our membership is open to beyond those with military service, and includes former law enforcement and emergency service professionals. Those who do not fall into that bracket can join as Associate Members. To join click Sandbag click on the globe icon in the footer.

The Victory Ball is brought to life by a passionate team of volunteers who have dedicated countless hours to making this a truly unforgettable event.
Each member of our organizing committee has a demanding full-time career outside of Sandbag, yet they have generously given their time, energy, and expertise to create an evening of celebration, remembrance, and camaraderie.
Their commitment reflects the spirit of service and honour that this event embodies, ensuring that every detail contributes to a night worthy of the occasion.
